I cannot figure out how to solve this problem. I have this box popping up, which says: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.
There is a red box with an X in it and after that: Runtime Error! Program: C:\COMPAQ\LUTIL\WIZHOST.EXE Abnormal Program Termination You can click on OK and it will disappear, only to reappear in the next 10 minutes. If I do - ALT-CTRL-DEL, I can also get rid of it temporarily. I am running Windows ME and I have tried restoring to two previous days, when this problem was not occurring. This still does not solve the problem. Can anyone please help me? Thank you so much.

Have you uninstalled or loaded any new programmes or downloaded anything dodgy from the 'net since this has been happening?

I did download a backup program from the internet and installed it. I have since uninstalled the program, thinking that was the problem. But that didn't work either, and that's the only thing I have downloaded and installed.

It seems to me that the said program has conflicts with your PC... some drivers or thingees in your pc maybe messed it up or now compatible with windows ME... I think, (I am not sure) that System restore restores the essential files... and maybe it has already overwritten a driver that may not be recognized by the system restore as a new driver or something... worst comes to worst you could reinstall or uninstall the backup prog so you may see if that was the problem...

Thanks Bahamut, I have already uninstalled the backup program and have not attempted to download it again. So, I am guessing it is something else altogether, but can't figure out how to solve this problem.

SO there are still problems? well do my fav thing... if there are still probs... you could choose to selectively start up to trim down the possibilities... but well you can just have it fixed to a tech...
