Now that we got the "heavy hitters" out of the way, there are several more X-Men that are far more powerful than most people realize. This is due mainly to the fact that many of them have been treated as secondary characters in the comics and the full potential of their given powers were never explored.

So here are few more X-Men (or other mutants) that are far more powerful than they are given credit for.....

Iceman - Probably the most underrated of all the X-Men team. In the comics, he never really exploited the destructive potential of his ice-powers. Talk about somebody that could make your blood run cold....Bobby Drake could freeze it solid if he chose to - resulting in instant death of the victim. Instead of lobbing snowballs, he could hurl razor sharp ice shards or a flachette attack of ice needles and shred his opponents. If you want to be really cheesy, he could use a standard AD*D trick and create a large, thick wall of ice directly above his opponents head..then let it fall and crush them. He can also lower the air temperature in the immediate area down to sub-zero levels. Even Magneto would have a hard time fighting back while shivering uncontrollably (and just thick of what Iceman could do that metal armor and helmet Magneto wears - he could freeze it solid and shatter it with one hit..bye bye mental defenses).

Cyclops - Yeah, you know his eye-beams are powerful..but do you realize just HOW powerful they are. Keep in mind that his ruby quartz visor allows him to adjust the strength of his eye blasts and that his "power" is on all the time. Scott Summers rarely unleashes his eye blasts at more than 1/2 to 2/3 strength at best. Remember what happened to the roof of the train station when Toad ripped his visor off. One shot blew the roof completely off the building. Cyclops can also control the width and intensity of the beams. He could unleash a "wide angle" blast that would level a building...or he can focus his eye beams into a blast so concentrated and powerful that it can even penetrate the Blob's rubbery skin (which is something a high caliber rifle can NOT do).

Havok - Cyclops' brother. Instead of energy beams, Alex Summers fires bolts of pure, concentrated plasma from his hands. He has far less control than his better known brother, so he has always been hesitant to use his powers at all. When he first joined the X-Men, he had NO CONTROL whatsoever over his powers, so he vaporized anything he fired at. Like Cycops, Havok draws his power from cosmic rays. He is a super-charged, high-powered plasma cannon that is just waiting to "go off" all the time.

Psylocke - One of my favorite X-Women of all time. Her psychic powers were always powerful, but she wasn't disciplined in their use. After joining the X-Men, she gained more control over her powers. Then she somehow had her personality transferred into the body of an Asian fighter babe. Now she had the physical abilities to back up her mental powers. She developed a "psychic knife" attack which was a physical manifistation of her focused psychic powers. Whenever she "stabbed" someone with her psychic knife, it instantly "short circuited" their brain. This could conceivably even work on Magneto since the psychic power is literally being physically inflicted into his system. If nothing else, it would stand a darn good chance of "frying" his helmet.

Dazzler - She can blind opponents with her strobe light effects, or she can fire deadly laser beams from her eyes, hands, or fingers. Again, there is a lot of potential that is largely "untapped" most of the time with her.

Spiral - One of the deadliest femme fatale's ever faced by our intrepid heroes. This six-armed psycho wench can fight with swords and/or daggers in each hand. She has psychic powers. She "dances between dimensions" (which means she can teleport even better than Nightcrawler), and she seems to have a permanent PMS-induced personality. She is always in a bad mood and is constantly looking for somebody to take it out on. Stay far, far away from this gal if at all possible.

Here's a thought... If Cerek's presumption is true, ie. if Magneto is considered one of the two most powerful mutants in the X-Men Universe, then what about Polaris?

IIRC, she has the same if not similar powers as Magneto himself. Wouldn't that make her in pari materia, the 3rd(maybe tied 2nd place with Magneto) most powerful mutant?

P/S: With regards to Dazzler, well, she's never been more than just a big-haired, rhinestone jumpsuit wearing, disco diva to me. Untapped potential....yea, right!

Actually Cerek there was a time when Pheonix was more powerful than ANY X-man. Cyclops too.

In "Apokolips Now" The (DC) teen titan - (Marvel)X-man crossover Darkseid (a powerful alien "god" being) revives Dark Pheonix using the lifeforce of the X-men and Teen titans. Obviously a chaotic battle follows which eventually leads to Xavier locked in a mental battle with Dark Phoenix, one he could not win by himself. Only when Xavier and Raven (from the teen titans, their equivilant of Xavier really) join forces and launch another psiwar is launched is she defeated and thats only because Raven's powers enhanced by those of the proffesor was able to use the one weapon to which Dark Pheonix is vulnerable, an emotion...loe (how corny ) Her physical form then starts to dissapear and so she's got to possess another being to stay alive...she makes the obvious choice and possesses Cyclops. Her evil being is tainted by Cyclops love for her, she blames Darkseid for this mental torment and the now INCREDIBLY powerful Cyclops launches an attack that kills Darkseid, in that attack Pheonix also left Cyclop's body returning him to his former self.

Thank my brother's comic book collection for that info Raven's the most powerful "mutant", being able to affect the emotions and thoughts of another being as much as she wants, and even instill them in beings who have none. How gnarly

Wolverine is actually very powerful in his own right. He doesn't shoot energy beams or fire lightning bolts, but he is also about the LAST mutant you would ever want mad at you.

His healing factor makes him incredibly difficult to kill and when he enters his beserker rage, he doesn't feel any pain. Wolverine also has no problem with killing an opponent. Unlike other heroes, he never holds anything back in a fight. He has also fought other characters far stronger than he is. He has stood toe-to-toe with the Hulk on more than one occasion.

Wolverine is like the Terminator...once he comes after you, NOTHING is going to stop him.
