What to say to the dragon..??

I have read in a walkthrough that the sacred word is "Elseramavin" but this does not seem to work. I have tried everything else that i can think of but no luck, should I say this before or after I give the dragon the shroud..??
So far I have given the shroud first..??

The dragon seems to be hard of hearing or very forgetful (not surprising considering his age) but you have to say Elseramavin, give him the Shroud, and then say it again.

If he's still unhelpful try typing it in instead of selecting it from the list.

I found you had to choose "elseramavin" from the list, not type
it in. Do that first, then give the shroud (he'll ask for it as
I recall).

hmmmm it wasn't in my list I had to type it in and if not for the walk through I would not have even know what to type in. Could it be that I have missed a converstaion with soemone earlier to get it into my list.

At least I know this is the right word now I will go and try again and again and again...lmao, seems that a few things in this game have not worked for me untill the third try..so fingers crossed hey.

Ok got to bump this up again. No luck what so ever the words "Elseramavin" are not in my words list the dragon says nothing about any shroud untill I give him the shroud, then after asking about the sacred words he tells me that I have to say the sacred word I say "Elseramavin" and he starts rambling on about the mavin sword being made of good and evil..and thats it nothing he just shuts up no doors open. I have tried saying this word first then give the shroud and say it again and again and again...nothing seems to work. Could there be another word I can use, he doesnt even seem to recognise the word "Elseramavin". Is it the right word maybe theres a typo of some kind there..??

Where, and at what point do I talk to the Dragon. I've been into the Dragon Spire cave but I have to find the crank. Will I run into him after that?

This seems to have happened to another player a week or so ago. He seems not to have talked to the ghost of D'Soto at Shurugeon Castle after killing Haleabus. From him you hear the sacred word. I finally had no other advice to that player than to go all the way back to the castle and receive the sacred word. Last thing I heard was that he was going back, but I don't know if it succeeded. Try searching the board on Elseramavin, you'll run into that thread.

I found a way around it, in a fit of rage I got up close to that big o'l beast and started hacking at hes leg. After finaly killing him the door was open and i got the sword and onto brimlock roon.

Not the way it should be done...but its done anyways hopefully with no drawbacks later in the game.

Magnus - you will have to find the Dragon Shards first.

Maxpower - I believe you have come up the first reason I have seen that could justify the killing of Sir Sean Connery, er, the dragon. Sad, but apparently necessary. Accents like that should live forever!
