quote:"Victory!" screams the front page banner headline of North Korean daily the Pyongyang Democrat, above a report outlining how the Democratic People's Republic of Korea torpedoed hapless Brazil in a 29-0 rout, in which bespectacled man of the match, chairman of the National Defence Commission, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, supreme leader and midfield general Kim Jong-il scored 28 goals, with his late father eternal president Kim Il-Sung chipping in with a victory-sealing 30-yard surface-to-air missile in injury-time.

I was expecting the Argentinian to rout SK 6 - 0. Evil me.

Greece vs Nigeria, What the hell was Keita thinking kicking people like that. Because of him nigeria lose the match. As the commentator said. "Madness, Pure madness!"

And France.... a big LOL!!

By the way, do you guys notice that the vuvuzela noise is softer than before? Did the tv crew did something to muff up the sound?

I know it's a stereotype, but what Keita did is a typical African flaw and it's exactly the reason why there will never be an African worldchampion. They simply can't control their emotions, smart players and coaches know this all too well, and use that knowledge to their advantage. Physically African players are topnotch, but tactically they have the IQ of a peanut.

Most broadcasters are filtering the sound of the horns now, yes. Better for us, but i still pity the players. I refuse to call them vuvuzelas, btw. Giving it a fancy name does not make it a musical instrument. Most people could get a greater range of notes from their bumhole.

I watched the first half of France v Mexico (0-0 at that stage) before i went to bed. What happened after that?

Well, for starters...the coach let Henry warmup for about 20 minutes and never brought him into the game. I don't really know what's wrong with France, in theory they have a worldclass team, just look at the names and where they play in Europe, but as a whole they appear a lame bunch of overrated footballplayers that look tired before the game even started. On top of that they seem to have a coach that seems to lack common sense, and wasnt't the players best friend to begin with.

Anyway, i'd say justice has been done. The French shouldn't have been here, looking at the way they qualified. They definitely didn't have the luck of the Irish.

Ok, but what was the final scoreline? 0-0 still?

Ed: Nevermind, seen the highlights now.

France 0 Mexico 2

1st goal scored by Hernandez, 2nd from penalty by Branco.

Did Raymond Domenech threw away France world cup matches because Laurent Blanc is gonna replace him after the world cup? Hmm...

Group H just opened up with an upset win by Serbia over Germany. Lots of cards handed out, most notably a red to Klose leaving Germany with 10 men for most of the game. Serbia unlucky not to have made the scoreline greater than 1-0, but lucky to not have been punished in a penalty shot from a silly handball. Podolski prolly wont be most liked person in Germany right now..

Edit: Group D rather.

Lots of angry Seppos today? I think the ref robbed them of the winning goal. Can anyone tell me what the ref's reason for disallowing the goal was? Great match though, besides the unjust result.
