actualy they've lost almost none due to KaZaA. some theorys say that the previous high in music sales was due to people re-buying their old LP's in record form. now there collections are finished and the high has stopped, the RIAA have to find a scapegoat for the recent downturn in profits.

the RIAA are using some pretty devious methods, your right. but before you can counter sue, you need evidence to support it. unfortunaly for sharers a court is more likely to listen to 'hard evidence' than the protest 'everyone knows there hackers'.

And can we please return to the topic now.

any price reduction in CD's is a good thing. i think one of people's major gripes with CD's is paying through the nose for something that they dont feel is worth it. now the price is reduced i think there may be a pick up in sales again, although i dont think as high as the LP replacement phase.

Ok, Zero Alpha, there really is no point in going to court so they can sue you because you'll end up loosing to their lawyers because of all that copywriting crap and then you'll be fined 100 grand.

Actually they have lost business Zero, otherwise they wouldn't be hacking into Kazaa like they have been.

Actually I heard people on the radio talk about a new study that shows that P2P programs are helping the music industry, people hear a song like it and go out and buy the album... RIAA has been crying wolf all the time for no reason...

And wasn't this thread about airplanes and Tennis?

Well if it's helping sales then I don't see why the music industry is getting worked up over it, but I'm not trying to argue about anything, just saying what I've heard and read about it.

Ps- Sorry about hijacking the thread topic, all in good fun though
