I have been checking out this board for a while and was impressed at the attitude prevailing throughout. I have only recently signed up and it looks like I am on to a good thing.

Oh, let's not start this "ancient" thing again, PLEASE. EVERYONE here has something worthy to contribute, regardless of which board they started on, how many posts they have, or how long they've been here.

My remark about being an Ancient was a JOKE. You've been here since the blue board days, Saz...do you have a problem with being considered an Ancient? ------------------ Let People Be Is Too! Is Not! Is Too! Is Not! [This message has been edited by Moni (edited 08-19-2001).] |

I agree with Sazerac...
I know it's all in fun when you guys are talking about being 'ancients', but I'd not be too surprised if that sort of thing scared off newer posters. They might feel like they don't fit in, being new and all. *shrug* Go figure . |

Well I for one don't consider myself an ancient here nor would I until I had spent a few years here. As for it scaring off new posters, they'd have to be pretty whacked out to let a little thing like that affect them!
I don't see anything wrong with Rikard and the rest having their "Ancient" status. Take into consideration that those remarks were made by 16 year olds and then look at the 37 year old's (Saz') response. Innapropriate to say the least. Yeah here I go saying stuff that will piss people off but I think some people need to get a grip and get the fact that not everyone thinks like them, nor should they have to...other people should be allowed to make jokes where it can be appropriate without someone following them around and making opposing remarks with their little "rolleyes" characters. Get a sense of humor and let people be. You don't see me creating new personas to come back and agree with myself to make a point but I could if I were that big of a chicken that I could not defend my own posts. ------------------ Let People Be Is Too! Good to hear that Z. As you can see by my post number I am a noobie! Been lurking here for quite awhile though. If it wasn't for drama queens like Saz and a few others well...shucks, I guess I would never post LOL. It is just a "moniker" (Ancient) for Gods sakes why all the fuss? Yours truely...

Personally, I don't really care about the 'ancient' status...thing. I just think that some newer people might feel left out. But hey, I could be wrong. |

Not agitated by you, provided you are who you say you are LOL.
I just don't think such a big deal should be made of it by a moderator of all people esp when it really isn't that big of a deal. I just think mods should make more substantial posts than the rolleyes and negative comments when everyone is getting along...not that they have to, just that they should. They, as moderators, set an example of what is acceptable here after all and, yes, people are allowed to disagree but at the same time, none of us should be afraid to post because a certain mod is going to come along "rolleyes" and make snide remarks at something that should be allowed for the sake of fun. ------------------ Let People Be Is Too!
