just feel that the CD check everytime ruins the full install...

So I can put the CD back into the box and store in a good place rather than covering with dust over time in my desk hehee... just love this game too much

You will need CD 2 in the drive every time you start the game. I don't use my CD drive much, so I just left the BG2 disk in the drive all of the time (Right now IWD is in the drive -- been there for a few days). You can safely store the other disks. I don't know that there are any side effects to leaving the CD in the drive for extended periods of time. I'd think there'd be none. However, if you want to store all of your game CD's to preserve them for eternity, you can burn CD 2 and use the copy when you need to start your game.
