Well six out of eleven seniors have decided to raise the money for a senior trip. We all decided on a cruise. Wait now I know what you're thinking. "Cruise that's great, but aren' t they expensive?" Not this one! Lucky us! This one only costs $249 per person! Ah but wait you forgot the flight costs which bring the price to about $1000 per person. Now six students and 3 chaperonest times 1000= $9000. Not to worry though the cruise isn't until April, and we've got 4 whole months of fun filled funraising to do! (Notice the sarcasm!) So far we've made 1050! That's one person taken care of 8 more to go! Just gotta keep telling myself it's for good cause.
Has anyone here done fundraisers (I know you have.) and what for?

Just curious is the price of the cruise contingent on you taking their flight plan? If not, why not search for cheaper airfare and book the cruise separately? I've seen round trips to Hawaii for about $200 dollars, so surely you can do better than $700+ per person. Look around you might be surprised.

As a matter of fact we're working on taking the flight costs out completely. If that goes through we won' have to raise nearly as much. Oh and the reason the flight costs are so high are because of our location for the most part.

Why bother taking chaperones? I know that would be the last thing I wanted as a senior. If you do have to bring chaperones, why do you need 3 of them when there are only 6 of you going?

Good point Milamber! Well Marie won't be able to go unless her mom comes. So that explains one. I know no one would let us go without a chaperone, and we need one since we're going off island. Two. I guess the third one is just someone who wants to go.

I have been doing a lot of fundraising recently. I usually find it good to call in favours. For example me and some friends organised a party in which we got people we know to D.J. for free. And then we charged £1 entry, we could have got away with more I think. It was £50 to hire the bar and the manager got all the bar taking, but that was £100 straight profit for us that night. All for a good cause.
It being the festive season have you tried carol singing? You never know...
