I just started a new run through of BG 2 (full install, with Kelsey, Romance Imoen, Ease of Use, and the Gnomish Cleric/Illusionist mods installed) and the voices of the characters (both party and Irenicus) are very soft, almost at the level of ambient sound.

I've adjusted the volume on voices and other sounds, both inside and outside of the game, to no effect.

Has anyone encountered anything like this, or have any idea what may be causing it? I've tried restarting with a test character and had the same effect, and, if possible, I'd like to avoid reinstalling the game

Did you blow one of your speakers? That's the only thing I can think of that would cause voices, a specific sound, to seem softer.

Disable 3D audio. 3D audio doen't work well with a 2 speaker setup sometimes.

Thanks for the tips. Turning off 3d solved the problem.
