I can't believe I'm saying this, but for the first time, I'm glad I'm in Texas in the summer!
I've been reading about the incredible heat wave over the Northeast and Midwest, and it sounds intolerable. 110+ temps in New Jersey, of all things! We've got a high of 97 degrees in Texas today, and it's cloudy and looks like it's going to rain. Go figure! For those of you in the northern areas of the U.S., are you guys coping all right? All seriousness now, heat CAN be deadly. Sending all my friends huge kegs of Texas Iced Tea and Lemonade, ------------------ |

Wow, is it really that hot up north right now? Sympathies to my Yankee friends if so.
All in all, it's been a relatively cool summer here in Pumpkintown (Northwestern South Carolina). I suppose you guys and gals up north have borrowed our summer weather for the season. Watch out or it will slow you down to the point where you'll start speaking with a southern drawl |

I'll say an "Amen" to that Saz!
It may be a bit on the humid side here as a norm but it is a tolerable temp. in the mid 90's with (finally!) overcast skies, making it a perfect summer day for outside work that has been waiting for me to face for a few weeks. I feel for those of you unaccustomed to the heat and are being made to suffer in extreme temps and humidity levels that make it hard to even breath. Rather than sending hugs your way, I'll just fan y'all. Adding some home-made lemon squares to your goodie box there, Saz...ain't nuthin' like a good bit o' citrus to quench a thirst! Diogenes, it has been a cool summer on the whole but the last week has pretty much sucked if you work outside (as I do)

Thanks for your concern Saz.
Today in Minneapolis it’s 79F and beautiful. But Earlier this week was torture. On Monday and Tuesday the temperatures were around 98F to 99F with humidity between 65% and 80%. Our heat index for these days was between 105F and 115F. |
