I've just entered Baldur's Gate and I need help. I've entered the top floor of the Iron Throne. Do I have to kill all these people, or can I just go back to Duke Eltan?

Thanks!

If you have just entered BG - you should wait - go to the Flaming Fist compound and talk with Scar - he'll give you a few quests you can solve first - you'll also get a quest to investigate the Iron Throne there later on.

THEN you'll have to kill the people on the top floor. Tip: potions of explosions work well here.

And don't forget to explore the rest of the city - there are many good items laying around.

Actually, I didn't kill them. Just went back to Eltan and told him about who the leaders are and where they were. I didn't even need to go to the Iron Throne, I found out all that info from a guy in the thieves guild!!!!

Thanks everyone!

AH, but you get a tonne of XP for killing them. I fought that battle a number of times because my characters kept dying. FInally I made it. But Xzar died during it. So I thought "Forget him - And the mad wizard falls!"

Great stuff though!

What exactly do you need to do to finnish the sewer investigation quest Scar gives you? I killed the Ogre Mage in the sewers and Sclumpsca the Sewer king & his cronies, but could never seem to finish the quest. What's up?

I never managed to finish it either.

I just went back to Scar and spoke to him. He let me off, and wasn't angry or anything. If this is any help.

I think you need to get a specific ring off one of them. I didn't complete it either but I told Scar that an Ogre Mage sent carrion crawlers out to eat people so he gave me money and XP.

Yes there is a ring on one of the bodies near the wall; I think it is a ruby ring and its on the first body to the left of the Orge Mage and the Carrion Crawlers
