when i talk to kerielle, she makes no mention of her dead friend algamesh and the desire to have his amulet back. do i need to do something first to trigger this event?

also when trying to open the treasure chest which contains the amulet in the 2nd room at the beginning of the crypt, my poor 2nd lvl ratling roque keeps on dying. do i need a higher lvl rogue to open the chest? or do i need higher than lvl 1 lockpicks in order to open it? also my warriors cannot beat the chest open either.

any tips? i must have the glorious amulet hehehehehe

Hi agent199!!

Not sure why the quest is not triggering but as far as getting the chest open - it would be a very good idea to invest some training and level points into Lockpicking - that will always improve your chances of getting chests open safely. First time I visited the crypt, I couldn't get that chest open either. Was only after I had improved my rogue and his lockpicking skills that I finally was able to get it open.

Did you actually use the keyword "amulet" or "algamesh" when talking to her?

the keywords 'algamesh' and 'amulet' do not show up on the list.

i have a feeling i have not triggered the event. i thought the amulet was in the second room inside the crypt. this is even before the broken stairs. now i realize that the amulet is actually in the left room after the broken stairs on the next level.

is the chest in the second room before the broken stairs just a standard chest with no special items? this was the room where i had to lock pick the door open.

does this sound correct?

You can type things into the list box. "Serpent Temple", "Ishad N'ha", or "Caves" will trigger the Algamesh quest.

So will visiting Gorthius and his group (southeast of Valeia), if you use all the keywords when talking to them. You can then go and talk to Kerielle about whatever you want.

Hi, Agent199:

First of all this is my very first post, so please don't laugh!
Second of all, this is a fabulous game!!
Third of all, this is an even fabulouser forum!! I have gotten many, many tips since I have been perusing your excellent exchange. Anyways, I too had a problem with getting Kerielle to spill the beans about Algamesh.. I actually had the amulet in my possession, and she didn't say anything about it. I only knew that I should be finding out about it from reading this site! So I went back to talk to her again. I believe the key thing here is to ask her about every single key word in your list... eventually you'll trigger Algamesh, but first she has to tell you all about the Snake Temple, the cult, etc. etc. (I just went through my whole list.. time consuming, I know but I eventually got what I wanted.) As far as finding the amulet goes, I can't remember exactly which chest contains it, but my rule of thumb was to open every goldarned chest in the whole crypt. (You never know what important item you might find...) Also, at the beginning I put all my rogue's skill points towards locks and traps.. now all the chests are "easy" or "moderate".
Just an interesting side point... I've actually started the game over by resetting, as I didn't like the way my characters were turning out... I still had my old characters, and deleted them to start some fresh ones.. but I inherited all their stuff! So I now have TWO Kerielle's potions, will soon have two H'thark's lockpicks, etc. Interesting bug. (I do have the patch, by the way.)

p.s. Thanks, mikeyg123
