Well I have a list:

1) The storyline
2) The romances
3) The fact that NPC's don't disappear
4) The Character Kits

How about 5), None of the above? What I liked were

The non-linearity of the quests in chapter 2
The complex puzzles that occur occasionally
The inter-party dialog and seemingly self-willed party NPCs

Add those to your list of potential choices.

The interaction between NPCS were my favourite!
I do think that the romances fall in to that category.
I also liked the fact that you CAN role-play your character whereas at BG1 you couldn't,say, play an evil character!
How about the strongholds?

1) The NPC (Go for the eyes Boo, go for the eyes)
2) The fact that you can `choose` to be good OR bad
3) the romances ( 2 bad they only have one option for the female players)
4)To hack and slash your way to fortune
5)That there is always a little new detail to discover

The humour (Minsc and Jan)
The lifelike random chats and romances.
The greater powers in BG2 than in BG.
The greater flexibility the game has compared to it's counterpart.

Yeah. Nuf said.
