There are a number of weapons I would like to use in this game. Staff of Doom and Bonecrusher Staff come to mind, but there are others. When the stats say HP drain -1 or stamina -1, are these drains permanent? My guess is that the HP drain has to be corrected by a Renewal potion. Can I get by with a stamina drain by just resting, or do I need a Renewal for that too? I currently have 5 Renewals but don't want to waste them if I constantly have to use them, if you see what I mean. I have sold these weapons in the past, would like to use them. Alizarin, my Elvin bishop, could use a good staff.

I think the curses are permanent. I mean it wouldn't be logical for the curses not to be. The Staff of Doom is very powerful, so it HAS to have a disadvantage. I advice you use amulets to counter. For example, at my party, Viconia has the Halberd of Faust (-3 hp, many good stats), so i gave her a Amulet of healing(+1hp regeneration) and an ANkh of Healing(+1hp reg), and she still loses 1hp per round. The ring of Regeneration is vey good in these cases(+2 ac, +4hp reg). If you are using the cursed items on female, i advice using Locket of Reflexion(+1 stamina regeneration). I'm not sure, but i think that if you cast remove curse spell the curses don't affect you (for a while)!

Thanks, tower. Worth a try, and I have all items you mentioned.

The drains work this way:
You loose hit points or stamina all the time as long as you use the item (ascyour primary weapon). It doesn't drain anything permanent; if you remove the item (after casting remove curse), you can rest normally. You need to cast remove curse to unwield them. Remove curse doesn't change the object; it will stick to you again when you wield it again. The regeneration ability of the Lord allows him to use any hit point draining items without problem. |
