Yes, and unfortunately all the bad publicity and trivial stunts give legitmate animal concerns a bad name too. Someone rescuing abused animals will have a lot harder time getting support after this news article gets around their area. It's a shame, really.

lol... Hope fully you didn't offend the lawyers on this board too much.
Oh, and...

WELCOME TO IRONWORKS, INJAYEW!!!
I don't think I did. Most lawyers I know are ver' thick skinned! I was only playin' tho...

Thanks for the welcome. I've finally decided to de-lurk.

Nah... it's not the lawyers. It's the excessive liberals... drop one of them, sans rope. I nominate the guy from PETA who made the phone call...
I am a *serious* animal lover and even I think the PETA people were way off base on this one. It seemed pretty harmless. I'm surprised previous possums haven't come back to Logan to for more catfood.

I keep hearing the phrase "possum trauma" in my head but I can't figure out how to work it into a sentence.

Exactly. They label themselves.

And another harmless tradition gets trampled under the PC stampede...

Maybe for May 5 they could do a PETA Pinata for Cinco de Mayo...

Well, the local paper didn't have any pictures from the actual Possum Drop this year, but Clay Logan and his "run in" with PETA was the lead story.

I have to give Mr. Logan credit...he handled his encounter with PETA's representative with a lot more aplomb than I would have. I was very impressed by his reaction.

Here is a link to the full story from our local paper.
