The return of Baldur's Gate?
http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=323024
I'm not getting my hopes up too much, especially since Atari owns the license. Even before setting sail I know this ship is going to sink real fast... |

Re: The return of Baldur's Gate?
My main apprehension would be that I would LOVE to try playing it, but I'm afraid they would make it in 3D. I can't play 3D games very long because they give me headaches. I wanted to finish Morrowind, but just couldn't handle the 3D.

What's there to do with with BG; the storyline is over. Would a BG game without the Bhaalspawn be BG?

I dunno if it's still in the works or whatnot, but the main idea was supposed to be now that the story's said and done, you explore different groups like the Red Wizards of Thay and the Harpers. |

I was thinking similarly. Different storyline, more or less the same setting. Possibly not even same area of the world, just a sales booster from the franchise name.

Re: The return of Baldur's Gate?
True, but the setting is still just Forgotten Realms, just like NWN and a score of other games. It's the story that made Baldurs Gate Baldurs Gate.

Re: The return of Baldur's Gate?
Yeah, people seem to confuse Baldur's Gate and the Forgotten Realms setting. What did they think the Forgotten Realms logo on the box was for?
It's like if every movies set on Earth was called Superman something because Superman happened on Earth. Doesn't make any sense.

Re: The return of Baldur's Gate?
Well, the plot mechanism to continue BG is easy. Were ALL the Bhaalspawn accounted for? There ya go....infinite BG sequels.

Re: The return of Baldur's Gate?
Who cares about stupid story lines anyway!?
Just give me a game I can go into have fun with. Some of them have too much dialog.
