Freespace 2 forums?

Just wondering if anyone knew of a freespace or freespace 2 forum out there on the WWW?

I'm having some major tech probs with the single player campaign and have been searching for about an hour and a half for a forum that is kept up to date (I found one and posted but I was the first one to post there in the last month [img]tongue.gif[/img] )

Any help is most appreciated so thanks in advance [img]smile.gif[/img]

I have played both games Downunda, so maybe I can help you. What seem s to be the prob?

No, I haven't heard of a freespace forum. You could just ask your question here in GD. Maybe someone will be able to help you. I only played the Demo of freespace though, so that person isn't me.

I've just finished the 2nd lot of training missions and am set to continue the campaign but every time I enter the briefing and click continue (or start, or whatever [img]tongue.gif[/img] ) I get booted to desktop?

I've got latest drivers and so on and multiplayer works fine (as do the campaign missions up to the one I'm at) so I am completely stumped!

The only thing I think of is the fact that I am using Windoze XP. I've also tried re-installing with no success so any suggestions (no matter how wacky - short of hitting my 'puter with a wet fish

) will be worth a shot.

I've played and beaten every Descent Game... that includes Freespace 1 and 2.. and your problem sounds like you either don't have enough memory or your version has a bug in it with your operating system...

...Thinking it must be an XP thing as I have no probs with memory (unless I still have that *#$@%^&#@^$ Klez virus) so might have to give up and just play multi

I have XP installed and I own Freespace 2. I will install it tonight and see if it works. Maybe there is an incompatbility problem.

Otherwise, are your sound and video drivers XP based?
