Maximizing damage resistance (IWD2)
Might as well break in the new forum...
So, what is the best combination of techniques to maximize your damage resistance? Damage resistance, of course, is the second great way to increase the survivability of characters in HoF mode (with 76+ AC being the first, and not counting good tactics). What is the max damage resistance that you've been able to stack? Off-hand, there's Stoneskin and several damage resistance items (armor, bracers, and iirc a cloak). There's also specialty class-based DR (lvl 20 monk, Weimar mod druid shapeshift).

Wow, very interesting topic here! I really don't have much to add, but I'm very interested in the results!

Re: Maximizing damage resistance (IWD2)
At one response every 5 days, it might be worth reading in a month or so.
I forgot to mention the Lingering Song exploit - I suppose it's technically possible to get DR in the hundreds for a very short period of time - but I'm interested in legitimate DR-stacking. I may do some experimentation when I have a chance (which will be months from now - anybody else feel like doing it?) to see what exactly stacks. Complicating matters is that some DR effects are "better" than others in terms of protecting against various levels of weapon enchantment.

Re: Maximizing damage resistance (IWD2)
What is that? I think I heard it mentioned before but can't remember properly... I never use exploits, just curious...
As to the original question, sorry but the only time I played HoF I found the spell "summon monster" to be the best way to maximize the damage resistance of my guys.

Re: Maximizing damage resistance (IWD2)
With the feat "Lingering Song" (makes a bard song last for two rounds after the bard stops singing), a bard can stack song effects, even those from the same song. War Chant (the lvl 11 bard song) regenerates 3 hp/round, grants +2 AC (generic), and gives 2 DR to slashing, piercing, bludgeoning, and missile damage. Hence, if you have the patience to pause the game and click the bard song icon numerous times, you can stack enough AC and DR to pretty much make your characters invincible to non-elemental damage for two rounds.
