i know this dosen't sound right but i can not find
out how to tell which way N-S-E-W. hope that dosen't to
stupid. could some one please tell me. i know i am over
looking it and it is real simple.

What I do is bring up the mini-map and look to see which direction the red arrow (my party) is pointing. North is toward the top of the monitor.
