Being commercialised doesnt make something bad as a rule but it means that it gets played a lot so you get bored of it quicker and since everyone knows it, it's not special or interesting anymore. Unless it's a REAL classic in which case people will love it and listen to it for years to come. An example is such a classic is Boom Shake the Room - that was out in '93 and whenever it comes on in a club, everyone still cheers

Well I think SOAD and Evanescence are really different. SOAD is real metal, evanescence is more rock (I often hear hardrock but I don't know or care to know) also if you compare the sound I'd say system is a lot harder and lyrics are a lot different as well. AFAIK know system doesn't use any orchestra/keyboard stuff either. For me it's so different that listening to one would automatically lead to liking the other.
But still system is really cool I like it a lot at parties. From the sampkes I don't know if I should buy a CD (though they're really cheap, like 7 Euro in shops that sell most CDs at 18-20) so I don't listen to it very often |

SOAD are nowhere close to Evanescence. Not everyone who likes Evanescence will like System. Evanescence get a lot more of their music played on radios and TV channels, so more people know them=> more people like them. SOAD rarely gets played and when they do it is some sort of speacial hard rock/heavy metal show most of the time.

Yeah I'm one of those people who like Evanescence but don't really care for SOAD.
