Could somebody clue me in on how I go about putting one of those cool little avatar thingies everybody's got? This is the first board I've ever posted on (none of the other ones caught my interest) and I'm not to keen on all this web-programming jazz; though I used to program in BASIC when I was a wee little one! *grins and twirls about in computer swively chair*

You don't. The avatars are automatic at certain levels. Check the ToS (Rules and Regulations link at the top of the page). Sig pics are placed in the profile with [img ] tags and the url where you have the pic hosted. Check the ToS (rules and regs) for the sizes that are allowed.

Have fun choosing a pic if you decide to!

Do you mean like the F-15 in my sig, or my "eliminster" pic?

If the former, you just link any pic you have handy in the storage space you get at your ISP.

If you mean the latter, you get a new avatar when you post a certain number of messages. I'll have elminster until I get to 500 posts.

You have to post more... see the little message in the bottom left of each post that (in your case) says Posts:61? When you get to 99, your avatar will change into "The Magister" that guy with the purple veins on his head... then at 149 you will become a manshoon like me... then at 249 a drow warrior, and so on... the cooler ones are later on...

Do you have a pic you want to add to your sig? If not, Deathbringer (I think he's the one) will make one for you.

check out this thread:

http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/cg...0;t=011769;p=1

If you do have a pic, then you need a place to host it. I use my own webspace at @cogeco.ca. You link to a hosted file in your profile. Click "my profile" at the top of the page. Click "view/update profile". You'll see a text block you can fill out that will be appended to each post you make. Check the rules and regs for allowable pic sizes.

You'll need the [img ] tag.
