I finished the game solo with a Mage/Thief. I reloaded many times.

Going solo, on max difficulty, I would definitely use a thief. It's not the most exciting strategy, but set traps will save you many reloads.

I sure rest a LOT.
Don't know if it's I whois bad or if you guys are amazingly good but at something like day 50 and I'm on my way to Asylum, on Insane.
Rest until healed with only one Cure light wounds ake aboute 2 days when seriusly damaged.

I agree, being able to set traps makes everything a lot easier.

Well i think
Kensai/Mage Dual Class
but do bare in mind you are VERY VERY weak in the beginning just after dualling to a mage

So start on the smaller tasks

Hmm i wanted to say that i killed kangaxx with my solo sorceror !!! im so happy BTW, im playing only in hard difficulty.

Now i have to do the twisted rune thing, and i will be done with the city (i already killed all the liches and stuff).

Im already in level 17, so im thinking of removing the xp cap and setting the difficulty level to insane to make the game more funny.
