Hello
I have played BG2 for a while now, but i never really understand how those saving throws work. Since they go down in number as amour class, i think this will mean that the chance to avoid or save vs. a spell increase in the same way as the AC to avoid an attack, am my getting this right? Any help appreciated! |

Saving throws are rolled on one D20, or a 20 sided dice. In layman's terms, the game grabs a number between one and twenty, and if it's equal to or higher than your saving roll, you save against that attack (results may vary).

Thanks for the help, Armisael.
Actually, I also wonder how magic resistance affects the saving throw rolls, or is it something else? BTW, where can I find stuffs about AD&D rules? |

first your resistense is calculated if you fail the roll for that you still get a saving throw. they aren't connected at all.
Good luck! |

at first i thought it was the other way around and when I was fighting mind flayers i got pissed by the fact that i failed all my saving throws so i used shadowkeeper and rised them! the result wasn't pretty.

you probable don't have enough inteligence, i think you need to have 16 for the prime stat of the class you are dualing to. 14 or 16 in the prime stat of the class you are dualing from and 12 in wisdom. i'm pretty certain of these, please correct me guys if i'm not. i had a similar problem with my fighter/thief. i'm assuming you are human.

You are almost right, gunner.
I loaded a game and took a look at Yoshimo(i remembered that he can dualclass), and there are rules about dualclass. You need least 15 in your prime requisite in your current class and least 17 in the prime requisite for the class you are dualing to. |
