Our IPs - Page 2

Everyone's IP is being displayed due to some childish actions by some people who really should have known better and acted in a more mature fashion. I'm more disappointed than angry at this really. All it does is create more work for all of us moderators.

As long as we learn from this experience, it won't be a waste.

A word of warning - dont be as daft as I was recently, using the same password all over the place. This is especially important as our IPs are showing - my IP and password were recently used to send obscene messages in my name on another board.

I thought you were the one trying to put all of that behind us by refraining from talking about it?

Good point though, I certainly use different ones everywhere, and concur that it is wise to do so if you're in any way caught up in this whole mess.

So that nobody will be thinking badly of me, Ziroc and Memnoch are aware that I log in from two separate PCs daily. (Home and work). I Don't know if this matters to anyone...

Same here, Larry. Actually, I don't think it matters if the IP is different but the name is the same...it's when the name is different and the IP is the same that was the problem.

As Z says, this is only a temporary measure. It's sad it had to be enacted in the first place.

Just curious! How would you know if there was another name with my IP address, that it was not my wife wanting to join in using my computer and ISP?
