Good News for Me

My client just got a letter today from US EPA regarding our self-disclosure of violations. While the violations were not harmful and were mere paperwork violations, and while we corrected them immediately upon discovery and self-reported under EPA's rat-yourself-out policy, the EPA could nevertheless have sought upwards of $200 million in statutory penalties -- if you take that $25K/day thing literally.

We got a 100% reduction. $0.

We're all floored.

But weren't you looking for that? It would cost them to put together a penalty package and implement it, yes? Either way its great news!
