My client just got a letter today from US EPA regarding our self-disclosure of violations. While the violations were not harmful and were mere paperwork violations, and while we corrected them immediately upon discovery and self-reported under EPA's rat-yourself-out policy, the EPA could nevertheless have sought upwards of $200 million in statutory penalties -- if you take that $25K/day thing literally.

We got a 100% reduction. $0. We're all floored.

Congrats TL, I know of a good duck in another thread that will help you celebrate for a fee, but she's a bit quacky.

Congrats TL

But weren't you looking for that? It would cost them to put together a penalty package and implement it, yes? Either way its great news!

Honesty pays again. credit to ya TL!

I just wish all the Bob, Duck and Weave Weasel law firms would give this advice to customers more often.

Congrats! I imagine the fact that it was only paperwork violations helped!

Thanks for the good wishes, guys.
