Best way to stay awake is to get enough sleep before hand. Besides, staying up 24hours isn't all that big a deal. You really don't hit the BIG wall until you hit 36 hours

Do some sort of intense aerobic exercise like TaeBo or run around your house 10 times; the adrenaline rush will wake you up. A cold shower might not hurt, either.

Very true, MagiK. My personal record is only 44 hours; my method of staying awake was not healthy (but not drug-related), so I won't go into that here.

Caffeine-drinks are good, like Battery or Redbull. Or just drink alot of Coke. Worked for me once.

Why?
I can understand it if you're going to an allnighter, but if you're just staying home, why not go to bed?
I suppose I can't see the attraction, since I am an insomniac who would love to be able to get more sleep than I do!

Keep yourself occupied and get some source of caffeine. Beyond that, willpower.

Various drugs will do it but lets not go there.

Also, its hard to fall asleep while walking somewhere - the nearest open supermarket to get some coke will usualy kill some time.
