it lets me get into the 'welcome scrn' then I start a game, the flag colours start alternating, I hit start, and the game crashes as the 'fog of war' withdraws,... weird huh?

Yeah, that IS weird, maybe there's a scratch on the cd ?

nah no scrath... its almost in the same condition then when I bought it; it works on 98SE, and 98... so I was wondering if it was a ME prob,,,

Well, no, not to my knowledge. I run ME too and i have no problems. Can't you go change it in the store where you bought it ? Just in case....

I dont think so... Ive had it for a couple of years at least; I bought it when It first came out... so I cant take it back now... maybe I should get a new copy or something....

don't you know anyone who has a copy of the game ? You could lend it for a day or so, install it to your harddisc, throw in a no cd patch and you're in business. Saves a lot of money that way.

it's called GameCopyWorld, so i'm guessing it's www.GameCopyWorld.com . If that's not it do a googlesearch on that. Here's another tip, if nobody you know has a copy of the game, go rent it in a library, they mostly have lots of software for hire, than ad the no cd patch and it's still a good deal.
