When you get to own the planar sphere, some apprentices come to make stuff for you as their training for becoming real mages. in the last part, when they say that they can make a staff of power, a robe of the apprentice, and something else (I can't remember). Can you choose any of those without larz or someone dying?

unscrambling your spelling, i think the answwer is no, somebody has to die to get those items. but you can get equivalents elsewhere.
or it might be random. save and try it a couple times. compared to all the good people you have to slay through mis-understanding it dont think this makes much difference either way.

If you ask them to make something, some of them will die. The good guy approach is to tell them not to make anything. If you do not mind though, then choose the Ring of Wizardry, it is the best choice.
Robe: 1 dies Ring: 2 dies Staff: ALL DIES Nothing: They all live happily ever after. Your reward for the good guy approach is that one of them will eventually return to you and make potions for you, 5 potions per week. |

i had the same problem, larz always died and i was ssaaaaadd.
 i reloaded and told them to stop so they all lived, but someone told me that you get tons of xp so i continued to try for about an hour. .....ksajdhfkljahs. i hate that sphere. havent finished the quest yet.

Yes... one of them may die in each of the options...
Set 1: Wand of Apprenti, Dagger of (PC's Name), Ring of Protection. ROP Kills Larz. Set 2: Scrolls: Mislead, Horrid Wilting, Meteor Swarm. MS Kills Nara. Set 3: Robe of Apprenti, Ring of Wizardry, Staff of Power. ROA Kills Larz, ROW kills Larz and Nara, and SOP Kills all three. When you choose something for them to make, if they say 4 or 5 Days, They will fail, If they say a few days, they will suceed. If they all survive, Teos will hold a grad ceremony and u get Xp, BUT ONLY IF ALL OF THEM SURVIVE. And no, i dont have the stats for the above items, but to acknowledge my resource (site, not specific page on this info) I used BG2 Hints @ UHS |
