I use Norton 2002 fine. could you clarify please. you can still download manual updates from norton, so go do that. even if you cant liveupdate, you can still update .

im sure there are ways to curcumvent the subscription date, but i assume it would be against the TOS to suggest them here. (as it would effectivly give you a pay servace free)

I had this problem forever. I was finally able to simply turn off the automatic updates so it no longer popped-up and annoyed me. Of course, I didn't do much surfing, so I just wanted the durned thing to go away.

Interestingly, after my HDD crashed, I re-installed it and was able to get updates under the free trial period again. Maybe....

Yeah, the only way norton knows if youve used the free trial before is some keys it leavs in the registry. that means if you remove them (which you in effect did) you can have a free trial period all over again w00!
