In BG2 my main character is a level 19 fighter. I planned on starting over, but I heard that all of the fighter classes, and thieves will no longer just chop away at one another. I've heard that you'll be able to parry attacks and attack at points on your opponent. Has anyone else heard about this? I don't much about it yet but it sounds cool!

Never heard about the parry thing, but that is a part that is so to say already taken in to the AC, maybe they will add some more life to the characters to make them visibly parry??

So far I read that you will now add a que of things and actions to do and your character performs them in his own time, this to make it more easy to control and not making it a "click.fest" ala Diablo2.

But that is as far as I know...

No I don't think the developers will make them parry. I think you will make your character parry. You won't be clicking as often as you did in Diablo 2, but you will click. You can right click and up comes a menu. By using directions with the mouse, you can cast a spell such as magic missile, or tell your fighter to take shots. Shots are attacking a specific point on your opponetnts body.

In 3E, you can specify "full defence" where you get 4 AC bonus but can't attack. Maybe that's what they mean

Slight correction for Lord Alcohol, 3rd Ed PHB allows partial defense and full defense, full defense costs all you're aattacks. What I want to know is will we be able to set the intensity at which we use variable feats like Power attack? I'd like to set it at a standard -1 even when about fourth or fifth level. Thereafter it would probably change to something bigger. There are other such problems (dodge, mobility etc) but they'll come up with something nice and interesting. Mind you, I've just seen some of the character graphics and they look horribly Mangesque. Shame, this looked like it would rise above such tacky graphics, oh well, never mind. It'll probably still be good.

Yeah well the characters look alittle cheesy, but the screenshots look nice IMHO.
I don´t know how the feats will function, and that is a concern but well hopefully they will figure out something, I mean Bioware and Black Isle did good stuff with BG and BG2..

You know I could've been wrong about the parry thing. Now that I think about it, it would be difficult to make your character parrry, and move them at the same time. Well you're probably right Wolfgir, they probably do make your characters just visibly parry.
