A glorious battle with a rather stupid end. may spoil

I was in the yuan ti temple. Difficulty on hard. Group: paladin, sorcerer, necromancer, bard, cleric and druid.

I wacked my way cheerfully into the room with the mechanical bridge and dragon statue, and closed one of the to doors that led there. I quickly disposed of the elite yuan ti that were there and proceeded to loot the "treasury room". Somehow the cleric there summoned 4-5 coiled disciples. I left my druid to deal with them (he is very strong in his 1/2 white dragon form. ease of use mod installed.) and started to loot the rest of the room. Suddenly i notice that i am attacked from the enterance! there were assassins (which were in the second half of the temple. How did they get there is beyond me. Can somebody explain this please?) coiled disciples and their bosses.

I promptly summon some cannon fodder, run to the bridge room and lock the door. I heal myself with healing potions kill the disciples (that my druid fought with) in a hurry, put my druid in the door and turn him to remhoraz (sp?) . I could have turned him into white half dragon, but remoraz has 30 fire resistance. I open the door and my necro+sorcerer started to pelt the assassins and enemy mages with fireballs. All was well, i killed all of the assassins and many mages.


My druid was near death so i turned him into human again, in order to use the healing potions. The enemy mage boss casted on him a spell that caused him to go berserk. It turned the last enemy (the yuan ti mage boss) into chunks of meat, since my druid used his +4 halbred to deal with him. I paused and congratulated myself on the hard battle.

I hit the space again, AND THAT BLOODY STUPID BERSERKING DRUID WENT CRITICAL ON MY ONLY RESSURECTOR!! My cleric was also chunkified, and i had no option of ressurection. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaamn! [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I reloaded and in that time i have done everything properly. Turned out that i managed to kill somehow all of assassins and nearly all the mages and priests.

That was the toughest battle i had ever to fight, final battle included (!).

Yeah, annoying battle.. Due to the fact those damn assasins are capable to go invisible..
I always found the best wayto handle them was to engade battle with that main priest (after trying to get a peacefull solution to the khuldahar situation), while summoning a mass of creatures watching the party's back at the doors. With that part as a main one in my strategy, I rush up the priest and its summoned minions and assasins, while casting web,greese and other area spells towords the doors in order to slow/damage the incoming mobs. Mind shield spells goes good here as well vs. charm or dominate or whatever is being used here (kinda forgot).

But yeah, you are right, this is one of the most anoyying battles.. Though fighting the Guardian is my worst part of the game.. Hate him!

Very intense battle, Black Baron. I was on the edge of my seat. I hate it when my clerics die...and i hate yuan-ti...so i would've shut off my computer at that point.
