You have to have possession of the book (i.e., have it in your character's inventory) to fix the bridge. As I recall, you just have to get near the bridge with the book (or maybe start to walk on the bridge) and it's fixed.

The book is held by a character in the top left hand part of the libary (the basement of that big building that is in the middle of your screen). The character has a name unlike the others, so you can easily identify him. You obtain the book by simply talking to him and saying the right things.

Hope this helps

Um, I know I got a book from that guy in the library... but i can't recall what it was. What's the title of that book? I am stuck in the same place... I have all 5 badges and can't cross the bridge. I hope i didn't put the book down someplace....

You should be able to tell, as its a brown leather covered tome. If everybody disappears before you speak to the guy, then it appears on the floor in the library at the mid-left side of the room. Use Alt and you should see it. However, if you've misplaced it somewhere, then you may have to edit it back in with 'Dalekeeper'.

BTW It's called "Engineering Manual". Rather apt don't you think!

you go ask seth some questions and then he just automatically gives you the book if you have visited the bridge before you talk to him..you have to get the message *you cannot cross the bridge bla bla* else seth won't give you the book

IIRC ace has done this before. Not a problem, but itd be nice if he asked the question anew, less confusing. And howd he find it with the search function down?
