At the western part of the Graveyard map there is a paladin who is mourning the death of his son. He may be talked into taking care of Rissa (sp?). You need to witness the conversation between the two and the priest in order to clear the quest from your journal. He only comes out during certain hours of the day, so if you can't find him try again later.

What happens if you don't witness the conversation? I think I received the experience, but it's still in my journal as an uncompleted quest.

Conversation won't start unless you're there, so don't worry.

I told the Paladin about the girl, and he walked off. I got distracted and didn't witness the conversation, but went over there later to find them gone. I assumed they had hugged, etc. and left. Will they be back? Is it one of those things that they only appear at certain points in the day?

A known issue--you have to keep the Paladin within your sight range for pretty much the whole trek down to where the Priest & girl are. If you don't, he tends to forget where he's supposed to go; he could either stop dead, wander off in some random direction, or even disappear entirely. Reload, if you can, and babysit him along the way.

Don't worry I won't spoil you but there is a way to finish that "quest" without being a ranger...

hmmm, she only screamed a little when I lopped her head off, saved the preist looking after her..

unless I'm playing a good char I normaly kill her, then anyone that think's what I did was wrong, which is normaly when I start looking for new party members.
