I just started playing BG2 again last night after I finially had enough of the self-abuse that playing POR 2 is... and to compare the two is not even fair. BG2 has a fit and finish that ROMD couldn't hope to attain without a major rewrite. It's like comparing a New Honda Accord to an old Pinto (look at it wrong and it'll blow up). Even though it might feel better to tell ourselves NWN will be weak... if it's anything like BG2 it will be a stand out game... and solid - reliable, playable, etc...

If God can create the world in seven days AND have time to rest shouldn't Bioware be able to produce one little computer game without keeping us waiting?
They have proven themselves to be on deity level before now .

quote: Not, an Accord to a Lada. Even though it might feel better to tell ourselves NWN will be weak... if it's anything like BG2 it will be a stand out game... and solid - reliable, playable, etc... Weak? Not a possibility. My major concern was that Bioware might sacrifice the standalone story for the multiplayer, editing aspect, but my own sources (which probably duplicate Ziroc's, though I'm sure he understands 'em better--being a developer, too) lead me believe the single player game will be used as a showpiece for what NWN can do, to encourage imaginative scenario creation. I like that idea. |

Well all I hope that NWN turns out to be a good game . The 3D Textures and backround for settings such as trees, buildings of any sort, dont look quite well with the 3D rather than what trees and structures look in BG2.
But then again too early to judge. Gosh I want NWN so bad .

Some good news at last
Ananova : Infogrames gets rights to publish 'revolutionary' RPG Infogrames have won the rights to publish the innovative role-playing game Neverwinter Nights. The game's developers, BioWare and Interplay, have reached a settlement following a dispute over rights. Neverwinter Nights features an innovative dungeon master system, which lets players create and run their own adventures. It is expected to bridge the gap between computer and paper-and-pencil role-playing games. The game will include an extensive single-player campaign and a multiplayer mode that supports up to 64 players per server. It is scheduled for release later this year.

Latest news :
Bioware and Interplay splitted and Bioware got a new publisher (see link for more details) http://www.bioware.com/bioware_info/...amesFinal.html About the release date, bioware keeps saying nothing about any release, THOUGH!! what I've heard from very trusted resources it should be in the stores by mai 2002, maybe even earlier due to the new publisher, let's hope my friends are right!

Hmm, seems that most websites into gaming keep a high hope for the beginning of March now. Add the usual problems and delays for a worldwide release (at least that sounds promising if they do a Blizzard..) we can hopefully expect it to still ruin our summer!
