Just bought and tried Unreal Tournament 2003. Have to say I'm quite impressed with it -- though my Voodoo 3 display card apparently doesn't enable me to get the most out of it. (Will have to change to a better display card sometime so I can play Morrowind, too -- sigh... )

Many of the maps/levels are really well-done. The ancient Egyptian maps/levels (correction, make it futuristic Egyptian ) are real impressive. There's also this 'Inferno' map/level that's as scary and dramatic as anything from Quake. And one map/level features this world with giant trees that's just too reminiscent of the Trynnie's Forest in Wizardry 8. The weapon effects are real beautiful as well -- the flak cannon's fireworks in particular are real pretty, how all the glowing shrapnel particles ricochet this way and that. My only regret is that there aren't any magic-based weapons.

Excellent game. Recommended. Anyone else got any thoughts to share on this game?

I played the demo since it first came out and still continue to do so, the few maps included in the demo are amazing and the gameplay on them is frantic and fast, can I expect the same quality of the other maps as the ones I saw in the demo? Just wondering cause if it does, then Im deffo gonna get it!

I haven't played that many of the maps yet, and to be sure a few of the maps I've played also seem a bit small, but on the whole they really do look good as far as I can tell. They seem much more detailed than the original UT.

Still a bit unhappy that none of the bots/characters from the original UT can be found in UT2003, such as the Raw Steel, my all-time favorite. (Everyone who knows me should understand why they're my favorite. ) But I guess it's just me. Can only hope there'll be some add-ons or whatever that will bring the old bots/characters back.

But apart from these little things... yup. I still recommend this game.

Does the game have higher system requirements then NWN?

Lower, I believe. My system doesn't seem to be able to run NWN at all, but it can run UT2003, albeit a bit not so smoothly. So if your system can run NWN, it should have no problem at all with UT2003.

The fact is that you can actually adjust the settings of UT2003 to suit your system. If it isn't really a high-end system, you can adjust the settings so that there'll be less detail in the graphics and your PC will be able to run it more smoothly.
