We have a whole bunch of slower computers in our school's computer lab and since Opera advertises itself as the fastest web browser, I thought I'd give it a try.

I've only been using it for a day, but I've noticed that it doesn't like submit buttons. It also has a problem executing "swap image" java scripts. It works very fast if just doing basic browsing, but seems to hang at other times.

Anyone else use Opera with more success or failure?

I've never tried it personally, Father Bronze, but from the reviews I've read, the experiences are very similar to what you are describing. Basically, if it isn't IE or Netscape, don't expect any of the big bells and whistles.

Have you tried doing a search at Tucows for alternate browsers? There's many others out there as well. Try looking at:

http://www.tucows.com and searching for browsers. (I think you have to pick a mirror site first in your own locale.)

Cheers,

Okay. I downloaded Mozilla. Trying that now. We'll see what happens.

It seems that most of the browsers out there use either an Internet Explorer core or a Netscape core. If anyone has any other suggestions, please post here.
