you haven't mentioned about the free flow of labour? Well, at least much less restricted. Allows workers from eastern europe to come and work in the UK for example. It has benefits like filling manual labour jobs that need doing, but in some cases jobs are taken where locals need them, so it can be bad.
So yeah, the general open borders thing is nice, not having to have any papers etc. to go around europe. Well ok you just need an id card, not necessarily passport. EU aid to poorer members to help them develop. etc.
