Problems starting games

I can't get my game to start new chars and soemtimes it wont even let me get to the creation screen. As soon as i start a new game soemtiems it shows irenicus talking to me like "Your not going to throw rocks at me now are you?" and other stupid things.Anyway it freezes or restarts my comp and its getting me mad. Any one got some suggestions for me to fix it. ive tried reinstalling it like 4 times and using the baldurash fix pack but it doesnt help.

Sigh all i wont to do is create my Preist of Talos Half-Orc =-(

Hmm... this does sound really weird. I assume you have the Bioware patch installed as well?

Those things that Irenicus says are part of the Ease-of-Use mod (faster chapter 1&2 cutscene's), try a fresh install with all the official SoA - ToB (optional) patches and then the Baldurash Fixpack Patch.

Do not install any other 3th party mods... (EoU, DBG,)

Start a new game and report back here.. if anything doens't go like it should be going.

Its still giving me trouble even with just the official patch and baldurash. As soon as Imoen says "They probaly sold our best stuff"....

It freeze or restarts my comp.

Do you have enough HD space free? if yes, go to the BGConfig.exe file in the BG II main folder, start it and see how much the cach size it is (it starts at 300 as bare minimum, try setting it to 400 - 500).

Do you encounter other problems with your PC? like the PC locks up and restarts when your playing an other game? If so it is probaly a error/glitch in your memory chip (MB ''working-memory'' don't know the englisch word for it).

If that is the problem, then you have a real problem.

that can only be fixed by buying an other memory chip and replace the faulty one.

Ofcorse I could be really off-track here... anybody else that will share his comments/solutions?

hmm no this is the only game that gives me trouble. It didn't use to but ill try the congfigure thing if it dont work ill tell you.

EDIT:Are you talking about the configure controls and at the top of the page there are like little tabs. If you are i went to the gameplay tab and set that to 400 it was at like 250... think that will help?

Yes IIRC, it state's ''Cach Size'' and then you can put in a number... if it was 250 (rather low) and you changed it to 400 then this should probaly solve your problems...

Ok well i fixed it to 400 and it worked until the game tried to autosave when it did that my comp restarted(for no reason) maybe i should check out some of my other configurations. Ill list them:

On the first tab (Basic) i put all the settings to below average pc although im not positive what they should be. its on 640 x 480

Any other settings i should list? I dont know what else to put. i have plenty of memory. I think it has something to do with the autosave. soon as it starts that or during that seems to be the problem. anyway i could cancel the autosaves of the game so i have to manually save it? (i wouldnt mind)

Anyway more suggestions are welcome
