The wonders of Wild Magic; While casting polymorph other you get the "roll twice" wild surge and next you roll "Affect self" and "Cast as Area-of-effect spell". Voilá! A party of squirrels. And I'm talking from experience..
But my question is could it be possible to create a Sorcerer who would utilize Wild Magic like Wild mage? Does the Infinity Engine allow this kind of compination or is it unachievable? Just image the fun (or the horror and frustration ) it could bring about. I'm not an experienced modder so I have no knowledge wether this would be possible or not. But if I recall correctly you can't make sorcerer kits but perhaps the Chaos Sorcerer could be placed under the mage class as mage kit? Any thoughts? |

Well... It would probably be easiest to create a custom spell that mimics the Wild Mage wild surge chance and have it cast on the target, then cheat the spells in. Anything else is over my head. Perhaps others have a better idea... It's also possible to make it a kit, but I don't know if the kit editor is up to that task. Like you said, there are no sorcerer kits, only mage kits.

I asked a similar question at Forgotten Wars (or was it the Pocket Plane Group?) and was told that the sorcerer kit was made in such a way that it's very difficult to modify it. (I'm in love with Wild Mages too--that's why I bought ToB.)

The only way I've ever found that's even close to working is through frequent use of ShadowKeeper.
You can give your Sorcerer the Wild Mage kit & play along fine as if it were doing what you wanted it to. The problem happens when you level up, though. The game wants you to pick at least one spell from your "school" every level, but that's impossible, so it just sits there, not letting you pick the spells you want but not letting you continue either. So, before each level up, you need to use ShadowKeeper to switch your character back to a regular Sorcerer, then go into the game & level up, then go back to SK & put the Wild Mage kit back. Needless to say, this becomes annoying quickly, & I eventually gave up on my attempt to have a Wild Mage Sorcerer. - Imrahil |

I would imagine that you could simply Shadowkeeper Nahal's and the Chaos Shields into your Sorcerer's reportoire (but be fair and sacrifice 3 other spells in their place), but as this seems so obvious, it's almost certainly been tried and proved not to work.

You can, but it apparently wants you to have at least 1 spell in your school from every level, so when you go to pick, say, 4th level spells, you're stuck. I should try it again with a different specialist school & see if I can get away with 1 spell from each level & make it work (since that's just my theory on why it wouldn't let me complete my spell selections until I removed the kit).

Then why not create a sorcerer then use Near Infinity to give the effect "wild magic" to that character, so that spells cast are wild rather than normal?

Because a Wild Mage only has a 5% chance of wild magic affecting their normal spellcasting.
Also, the Wild Mage's effective spellcaster level flucuates every time they cast a spell, one minute they can be mage demigods, the next as harmless as a new apprentice.
