Keldorn's only in his 50s. (Excuses, excuses.) However, the game doesn't provide a male character in the same age range as the PC--Anomen may be the closest at late 20s/early 30s. I don't think there are any young modded male NPCs either. (On the other hand, both NPC and modded NPC females vie for the cradlerobbing title.)

Have you read Korgan's attempts to flirt with Mazzy? Priceless. (I think Keldorn's the only character that doesn't provide any sexual commentary, and more because he's a straightlaced paladin than a 50-year-old man.)

There IS an Edwin Romance Mod and I think it was done by Forgotten Wars/Spellhold Studios. But it sucks. Edwin is not the type to fawn completely over the PC. It's so out-of-character for him that it's painful to read and even more unbearable to play. (That said, it might have been a decent mod if it hadn't been Edwin.)

As to the original question...

I never bothered with him because usually the heroes that require several hundred quests or areas to complete are much stronger.
He's the one but he's a lot stronger than he looks. His fighter/cleric class means he can put 5 proficiency stars into a weapon (clerics can only do 1 or 2, I think) and has more attacks per round. His DEX is a little low, but items can fix that, and he'll work well on the front lines and throwing stones from the back.

The only thing that cripples your party is lack of a pure cleric. Druids don't get some cleric spells. But if you only keep a cleric around for healing or buffing, don't bother taking Anomen. Your party's got plenty of fighters.

So he's low on dex huh?

Thats ez to fix as i haev some "set dex to 18" gloves i found in Ghoultown whilst doing the cult quest and i believe 1 of korgans speeches with mazzy was something like
Korgan:" i have something long, hard and close to the ground that you can touch mazzy"
Mazzy:* glares *
Korgan: " dont be daft i was talking about my axe hilt! "

I think it was like that but anyway should i boot "my very useful with killing beholders korgan" or "is very crap and soaks damage keldorn"?

I would say it would depend on which of the two you prefer. There is an incredible weapon available in SOA which Keldorn can use, but not Korgan. I prefer Keldorn in every way because I like good parties. If you take Korgan, you will have to make sure your reputation does not get too high.

Indirectly, he does.

Imoen hits on him later on in the game. Jokingly of course, but it mortified him at first. Pretty hilarious banter, that one.

Doesn't he mention that in order to be a true member of the Radiant Heart, one of the requirements is to be 60 or so, and that he has achieved this distinction?

Hmm...among Elves, what age range is considered cradlerobbing? Granted, Aerie acts like she's 12, but she's probably 50 or so, same for Jaheira and maybe another 20 years for Viconia. I'd say Valygar is about as old as Anomen--far more mature, obviously, but just as old--and Kelsey's in that neighborhood too. As far as I know, the only cradlerobbing in the game involves Saerileth.

Aerie is older than Jaheira, by what order of magnitude, I do not know. I cannot remember offhand whether Viconia's age has been discussed, but she has been around for quite some time if she was an exiled Drow.

Jaheira has weird eyes.

Ok so i do prefer korgan and keldorn sucks *Acorns* but if korgan doesnt like good parties then he's out on his *rump* because i was planning on emptying out my extensive collection of enchanted weapons and potions so that i could donate to the church.

So that'll make my party:
Ethoria
Minsc
Jaheira
Jan
Anomen
And some random hobo hero that appears next shall be in my sixth slot. Unless of course any1 has suggestions??

List of nono:
Nalia coz she's mage
Aerie coz she's mage and doesnt Shut up
Korgan coz he's evil
Yoshimo coz boo doesnt like him
Edwin coz every1 says he's evil
Keldorn coz he sucks *Acorns*
What about Haer'Dalis and who else?

EDIT: Also Valygar isnt the most useful person out of them all and for some reason his sword kept falling out of his Equip Items section and i cant find it.

Not sure where he mentions that, but *spoilers* the only reference to his age in game is his ToB epilogue, where he goes off to die in his sixtieth year or so. This is assuming he lived with Maria and the kids for a few years before his death.*end spoilers*

I'd say elven adulthood starts about 60-80, and I base this off Drizzt in Salvatore's Dark Elf trilogy. Aerie is younger than Jaheira, I think. Not just maturity but physical age. And assuming Quayle was with the PC at the end of BG1, there wasn't a whole lot of time for him to start his circus and find Aerie. (Even if Quayle wasn't in the final BG1 party, he never mentions the circus in BG1, meaning it's something he acquired or built in a short time. Then again, this entire line of thought assumes that the PC didn't spend months or years on end in Irenicus' dungeon...am I hurting your brain yet?)

And I didn't say *all* female NPCs are a bit too young, I just said that they vie for the title. Come to think of it, the romance options in BG2, modded or not, never seem to get past 40 or so in human years. And it's sad that Valygar's romance wasn't finished in time for BG2's ship date.

I disagree with Dundee--I don't think Aerie's older than Jaheira, relatively speaking.

Well.... I thought this discussion surfaced a few years ago. Let's see if we can't come to a solution.

Minor spoilers follow.

The game starts in 1369. The Charname is around 20. The Time of Troubles started 1358... So clearly Bhaal was siring at least ten years before that. Irrelevant, as we already know Charname's age.

We know Jahiera was born during the Tethyrian Civil War, which began in 1347. No mention is made of it ending, but it is said to have been decades-long. I think she was born near the beginning. That makes her........ 18....... and an old and dear friend of Gorion, the equal of Khelben Blackstaff.

That doesn't seem right. However, the book I'm referencing came out after the game. So if we're not considering that an authority (and there's no way in hell that Jahiera is 18, I'm sorry)... we're back where we started.

But at least we know not to try that again.

Anyway. I would think that the female NPCs, youngest to oldest, would be Jahiera, Aerie, and Viconia. Jahiera probably around her 50s, Aerie a bit older than that, maybe 60(which means that Aerie is still a child; elven adulthood is around 90 or so), and Viconia easily over 100. Perhaps 120 or 130, or much older... Hers is the age that's most difficult to gauge... As we've covered, I can't see Jahiera being over 60 and Aerie isn't in the triple digits yet. All we know is that Viconia's passed all of the rites of adulthood so she's at least a hundered.
