Unfortunatly the was no choice "I don't know" with the first question. I really don't know what's better and what processor I should prefer.

My first computer was an Intel and I havn't changed it.

It depends on what you do really. If you are into Video Encoding then an Intel would be your best bet, as they are a lot better at AMD at that. However AMD are better at gaming, and can be overclocked a lot more for extra performance.

Mine does, with a gig of RAM, and a Sapphire 9600 XT, both games run at high(HL2 on maximum) detail level without ever coughing or jerking up... So sure, you'll be fixed for the whole year or so

Well, less RAM, but a better graphics card will save you in most games.
I have an Abit NF7 nForce 2 Mobo with very cool features. It is a 400MHz board with SATA support(not used yet, didn't have cash), and 6 channel audio, quality sound even. In one sentence, to expalin the power of it, it's integrated graphics chip is a GeForce 4 4200 Ti

Nice, I just have an average Gigabyte board... its a GA-7VT600 1394, its major let down is the VIA graphics chip (not that I need it ) but it supports SATA, 8 USB 2.0 slots, 6 Channel audio, 400MHz FSB so im happy with it, it wasnt a GT or anything (couldnt afford one ) but im sure it will keep up for a month or so

AMD processors offer equal or better performance for less money, it really is that simple. Guess which way I voted

I 'borrowed' this from another "ahem" forum I frequent. Ah!, how ironic that it might be of all the hype how it's meant to be played, "Intel w/Nvivdia" and here clearly intel has been, uhm, DESTROYED! By the underdog.
AMD vs Intel
I run a really inexpensive (under $70 bones) AMD Sempron OC'd to Athlon 3000+ stock stats, or equivelant to P4 2.6C from this chart.

However, new technology is coming on strong.

AMD may give good performance or whatever, but their chips seem a bit cheap since they're noisy and get hot so easily. I used to have a 2500 Athlon XP and my fans would constantly be on the go. To me that's like buying a Kia over a Lexus, just because you get better gas mileage.

I run a P4 1.8ghz, by the way. Keep the system clean and add a decent chunk of RAM and it'll easily match an AMD.
