The damnatio memoriae - yes. Couldn't cope with having a woman in charge. Plus ca change, plus ca la meme chose... Is her temple not gorgeous then? From the descriptions in my book, it sounds fabulous. Terraces flowing one into the other, at varying heights... No?
I'll e-mail you some pics of the temple over the weekend - it is great, but you'll see what I mean!!!

As for the scary stories?? Well riding on the train with armed guards who were barely 16, armed with Kalashnikovs and not in uniform? Seeing someone have a gun pointed at them by the guard because they opened a train window wide enough for a grenade to go through? Getting stopped at a roadblock in the desert by a bunch of heavily armed kids not in uniform, wondering if they were going to protect you or shoot you? Riots in Cairo and students shot dead on the streets? Being targetted by the demonstration in protest at the student killings? Hearing that the overnight train we took was passed over in favour of a coach on the road alongside and the coach guards dragged off and shot dead in front of the passengers?

I was scared more than once - but it was a great experience nonetheless - being afraid wasn't the total sum of the trip!!

Anyway, it sounds like an interesting book. I wonder if I could get my local library to order it?!!!

Not to insult anyone or anything, but when people couldn't see the logic in that if someone didn't want someone else to look then it was because they had something to hide, then the IQ of that place was just too low for me to participate(You weren't one of those persons, noone who's posted in this thread so far is.).

I don't know of any country called 'Rather New Guinea'.

Is it really 'Papua New Guinea'? or a fictional nation?

Sounds terrifying to me, Epona! Looking forward to pics, - not received them yet. Sorry for late reply, still feeling pretty yuk, and had a tooth taken out yesterday under sedation. Now I've got a cough, and flue like pains in legs. Jesus. Am I ever going to feel well ever again! : Cheetah crumples into heap and cries softly to self:
