What a s**t day for music, Mickey Finn, T REX percussionist, died tonight aged 55. T rex were the first band I ever saw live, at the age of 14, after telling my parents i was staying at a friends house.

Awww, Lanesra! Nuts, I must have missed the news. T-Rex was, and is, one of my favorite bands, even though Marc Bolan has been dead for years. Well, Mickey Finn is with him now. They were the pioneers in the "glam rock" movement of the late 60's and early 70's and influenced a lot of trends in classic rock to this day.

Most people think about "Bang a Gong" as their number one song, but I loved some of their lesser-known stuff as well. Mickey Finn, you will be missed. Death be not proud...

Now that's interesting Saz because I was sitting here thinking 'Bang a Gong, never heard of it! what's he talking about?' then I twigged. That song was released in the UK under the title 'Get it on'. I guess that title was a bit too raunchy for the American audience at the time.

My favourite was Hot Love.
