ok is there any way to bring my guy back other than my mage. shes not at a hi enough level where she can cast that spell and if i get her there the other character will miss out on some crazy amounts of experiance points.....anyone got any ideas?

There is no potion that can cure pretrification, though there is the Potion of Mirrored Eyes which makes you immune to pretrification.

There is a Stone to Flesh scroll that you can buy from Nym in the Svirfniblen village at Lower Dorn's Deep. Your mage can cast the spell directly from the scroll. Put the scroll in the quick item slot of your mage, click on it and then select your petrified character as the target.
