...And, as I head back in from a brief review of the DivDiv forum, I can definitely say a couple of things...

First, I'm not playing the demo any more. It's completely incompatible with the real game, which means that when I start playing the real thing, I'll have to start from scratch anyway. I don't want to up my frustration level with that.

Second, when I get the game, I'll get and install the patch ASAP. The patched game doesn't recognize unpatched savegames, and I'd hate to up the frustration level by not being able to go back in time.

Third, if more folks get hooked on this one, I'll petition Ziroc for a DivDiv board. Too many of the folks on the "official" forum were into being nasty, badmouthing, calling names, and other stuff that I just don't appreciate. And, as you've probably noticed, we don't have that kind of stuff around here. We is civilized...

Fourth, aside from the namecalling, the forum didn't seem to be that well-attended. Far too many posts with no comments or responses, unlike what you see here. Although I did see something about the druidic welcoming committee...

Bottom line, if I'm going to give up large parts of my life to this game, I may as well make sure the ride is fun

We can always ask Ziroc to add a forum for Divine Divinity and if any of you regulars are hooked enough and willing to be moderator(s), I'd be happy to put in a good word!

Let me know!

I found/applied the 'Hotfix'...G'wynell, kept all her saved games...

* note: It seems that there is alot of 'tongue-in-check' humor in the game...The full version, pops up hits when you save/load. One hint, suggests that you kill Otho's pigs...(save, before you do)...the next one say's..."Don't beleive everything that you Read"..lol
But my fav has to be

I see what you mean about the boards.. ...the only plus, is that someone from Larian...actually visits the forums.

BTW...The comedic skeletons...made the final version...I LOVE IT..

I'll let you know by the weekend, Wyv, if I'll be interested. Picked up my copy today (and realized that while WillowIX paid $30 to my $39, she was also paying in Canadian $, which is... what? 50 cents? ), and by the weekend (after I take care of a couple of real world things), I should know if I'm thoroughly and completely hooked or not.

I've posted on the Moderators' forum asking if Ziroc will consider adding a Divine Divinity forum. Ziroc isn't always on the boards regularly but I'll keep you posted!

Oh yes -

Given that Ziroc is selling the "Ironworks" name and will be moving us all to a new name and needs to make up the new logos for all the different forums etc. I suspect that he will not make a decision on this until after he has completed all the necessary work for the move.

Oh, thanks, Packrat. I apologize for my poor memory, and I feel so much better knowing that it wasn't Willow. Heck, I could have asked her to pick up a copy, mail it here, tipped her generously, and still come out ahead!

BTW, I may well be hooked. Studley Dinsmore is up to level 3 or 4, and wandering around the catacombs with his undead henchman. Kinda nice having old George around -- he doesn't seem to take any damage, and he deflects a lot of the attacks.

Tonight I'll be going down to catacombs level 3, to start opening tombs and prepare for the party... the monster mash, that is.
