Greetings!!

Many of you are just now discovering the splendor of adding a graphic signature to your posts. KEWL!

I do ask that you only use your graphic signature ONCE in a thread to keep our board loading FAST and your signature looking special (if you see it a dozen times in one post - it gets old).

I'm not going to ask that those of you who have just added a graphic signature go back through every thread to which you have ever posted and edit out the excess (unless it is still in the top 15 posts). That's really too much to ask. Just remember when you are posting, to uncheck that little box which automatically adds your signature to a post if you've posted in that thread before. Okay?

THANKS!!!!

Wvy

Willow - the default is that your signature is added to a thread. I wish it were the other way around, that you had to check it to add it but that's not the way the board is set up. Oh well!

If you want to be so nice as to go into any very active threads in the top 15 or so and remove the excess signatures, that would be great! But I'm not going to get on anyone's case over this.

Actually it seems that my picture hasnīt been added to those threads I posted in before getting it! Iīm gonna check the tech thread just to make sure...

And Iīll add a tip here I think. The signature wonīt be updated in old posts until you post a new post in it! I bumped the tech thread and the signature appeared in all my posts. I think I got them all, but if you find one I missed Wyv, please remove it.

Now this is just a thought Wyv. To get rid of those pesky threads with multi-signatures; couldnīt you just remove the add reply button above the UBB buttons? The box "Show signature...." would then be fully visible? Or perhaps move the boxes up between the message area and the add reply button?

I don't think Wyv can actually do that because she's not the board's administrator. The placement of buttons is in the code of the page itself so you can't really change that without access to the code. I'm pretty sure that you'd want to talk to Ziroc about that. Of course, I might be wrong since I don't have moderator priveleges so I really don't know exactly what they have access to but that's how I understand it.

Ok, butting out now.

I know Jafin. But posting it here is a bit more serious than in GD. Half the guys in there havenīt seen the box after 1000+ posts al with signatures.

LOL!! Yep, we're serious here! Seriously funny (and wonderful)!
Jafin is quite correct - have no control over the format of the boards. Ziroc is the only one with control over that and there are certain defaults that come with the UBB code. I use UBB for my Border Collie rescue web site and while there are many things you can modify easily, some are not easily done. The easiest solution would probably be to make the "show signature" not defaulted to "yes" BUT given that the General Discussion crowd and the other areas of the IW forums I have seen are all signature happy, I seriously doubt that Ziroc would consider turning that off.
What surprises me most is that they haven't gotten sick of it themselves and opted to turn the sig off. I don't get it. I feel weird if my little Red bounces more than once in a thread (unless extreme enthusiasm is required!)

Hey Wyv for this forum can't you go in and take off the signatures if you see them on more than once.

And I do hate the General discussion for all of those signatures everyone posts them over and over they begin to become a little annoying.

Yes, I can and I have done that from time to time but it can be rather time consuming since I can only edit one post at a time just like anyone else (editing their own posts).
On a whole, I don't fret about it too much. If a thread is active I'll go ahead and remove the excess. Most posters here have been really super about picking up on the "once per thread" concept! This is the best forum to moderate!
