I'm in BG1 Chapter 4 and intend to finish the whole story with
my paladin, but I'm thinking ahead again... Has anyone ever finished BG2 with a monk? I was considering trying that for my second run through and I realized I'd never seen the class mentioned, not once. If the answer's yes, I'm off to a Mortal Kombat site to get me some pictures of Scorpion. Have a good weekend, Rikter |

Monks are super powerful at higher levels, in BG2 by the end of the game they should be about 78% magic resistant. Cant be poisened or slowed. They move faster than everyone except the barbarian. Their saving throws rock. They stun people with single blows, quivering palm will kill people in one blow. Theyre brilliant in melee, I mean really they do hammer people better than any warrior could. A very easy class to solo with.

I got far enough with my monk to realize that I'd get Nalia's keep as my stronghold. The only reason I'd started was to see the cool monk stronghold ... and there is none. Oh well.

Do _not_ solo a monk through SoA with ToB installed, that cap willscrew you, youll get to level 40 by chapter five and youll be beating up on dragons, demi-lichs and beholders with not problems whatsoever. I went from Brynnlaw to the end in about 2 days.
for ToB :- make sure you can do cold damage, since I havent yet found a weapon there that deals cold damage and you _need_ one. There are weapons in SoA that deal cold damage, but I sold them all.

I have just finnished it with a monk and I can confidently say they are one of the best classes. At low levels they are quite weak and die quickly and are very frustrating to play, but if you gave it time then you wont regret it they very quickly end up Hard as F**K.
Not many classes can boast being able to kill a dragon in one punch, heh heh heh. |
