There are quite a few differences in reality. NTFS introduces file security settings so you can set access rights on an individual file basis. It can also handle larger partitions. It also supports indexing to allow faster searching. It also supports documentation of files such as author, description etc. Just right click on a file and check properties. NTFS clusters are also smaller so less space is wasted. Does that look like only one difference to you?

In short, there's no point going back to FAT32 unless you want to use solely Windows 98 or ME.

If you really want to go back you'll have to reformat. To whoever said they don't trust a windows program: Partition Magic works its magic before the operating system boots so even though its main GUI runs under windows, it is not strictly a windows program. It is perfectly reliable, I have 2 hard disks and 10 partitions running quadruple boot Windows 2000, Windows 98, Red Hat Linux and DOS and it works fine - all done with PartitionMagic.
