I went to Watchers Keep during Chapter 6 of SoA and got to level 2. But is there any real advantage to doing WK at this point, since many of the items are only upgradable by Cespenar, and there is no way to get to him without starting ToB?
Thanks |

Aside from the huge amount of experience, some of the items you'll find are very powerful without any upgrades at all (not including any spoilers here). Plus, I believe that you can store items (in excess of what you can carry) in WK and have them be available in ToB.

First of all, this belongs in the ToB forum, even if you're playing it during SoA.
Second of all, it's better to do it in ToB because there are some pretty tough guys in there that your SoA guys may not be able to handle.

From a personal point of view, I believe it best to transition from SOA to TOB and THEN play WK. You made a valid point abotu half your items, they are only upgradeable by that guy, and you dont want to be lugging it around everywhere.
At least in TOB you can store them right beside Cespenar in your ***BIT SPOILER*** * * * * * * * * * * * Pocket Plane.

I would have to say only do it at this point if you are going to transition your game into TOB.

It can be worth it to go through the first level for some nice bags and belts, and the enemies there arent too tough if you do it early.

Doing WK too early is bad because:
1. enemies are low-level => less XP 2. the low level foes may make you miss out on some neat stuff there higher level replacements would drop I suggest doing WK not earlier than Chapter 6. You will find some nice stuff for the final battle, and things you can't use before ToB you can always stash within WK. They will be kept for ToB then.
