I take it you mean Warlords Battlecry ? Yep, it was quite entertaining. I have the sequel as well, but haven't played it yet.

theres a few, Warlords battlecry is the real time version, Warlords the original ( 1, 2, 3) were turn based , it had a limited economy, you got gold based on how many cities you owned and you determoined what units you poroduced, then it was basically a big battle with a hero that leads your armies and develops in stature

So it's basically another Heroes of Might and Magic wannabee?

I played Warlords 3. Only demo, but I liked it. Exploring ruins, doing quests, finding artefacts... Good game.
They ruined it with realtime, IMHO. Just as they ruined HoMM with the ugly graphics and gameplay.

Real-time didn't ruin the Warlords series, as it's the Warlords Battlecry series that's realtime Warlords 4 is prolly going to be released sometime this year, and will be turn-based

Not really. Warlords and HoMM are two different games. Both are very entertaining. It could be argued that HoMM is a warlords wannabe since Warlords was released way before HoMM.

IMO Warlords 3 wasn´t as good as Warlords 2 (at least the deluxe version). OK the graphics are oustanding in Warlords 3, as is the music. The campaign is also very entertaining. But all those scenarios in Warlords 2dx guarantee hours of entertainment.

I would like to try Warlords4 if it's any good. I got burned before on Age of Wonders--what a POS that was.

Yes lovely having a high level alchemist summoning artefacts and golemns Or ofcourse when do vampires come in handy Oh yeah i was really mean in that game!
Heroes, high level ones, mounted on flying monsters executing strikes fast as can be Yeah i am mean, but the computer deserved it. Surprisingly the AI doesnt really offer much competition If you can't hold the towns raze them! yeah!
